Anime Squadron Upgrade Units & Equip Gear

Use this guide when you need the practical unit-management path: upgrading, feeding, equipping gear, unequipping units, and deciding what not to sell too early.

Status: public guide steps, in-game values pending

Upgrade path

Start from the Units menu

The public tutorial group points players back to the unit card and Details screen. Treat exact upgrade costs, feed gains, and material values as in-game checks because those can shift after updates.

Gear path

Crafting is not the equip step

Guide sources describe gear as something you equip from a unit Details screen after you own it. Use the gear recipes page for materials, then return to the unit to attach the piece.

Roster safety

Do not feed away your team shell

Keep core carries, supports, Update 0.5 units, and rare duplicates until you have checked your best-team plan. Selling or feeding is harder to undo than waiting one more run.

Player steps

A safe unit-management order

This order answers the common tutorial queries without pretending every cost table is final.

  1. 1. Open Units. Pick the unit you actually plan to use, not a random duplicate.
  2. 2. Open Details. Check level, role, equipped gear slots, and whether the unit belongs in your current team.
  3. 3. Upgrade before rare spending. Use basic upgrades first, then decide whether feeding or materials are worth it.
  4. 4. Craft gear separately. Use the crafting route and material table, then equip the finished piece from the unit screen.
  5. 5. Feed or sell only after checking your roster. Keep mythics, new Update 0.5 units, and support pieces until your team plan is stable.

Mistakes to avoid

Small choices that waste resources

Anime Squadron is still moving quickly, so the safest advice is to preserve optionality.

Equipping from the wrong place

Craft or earn the item first, then return to the unit details screen to attach it.

Feeding useful supports

A lower-DPS unit can still be valuable if it protects, boosts, or funds your carry.

Selling new units too quickly

Update 0.5 units can become valuable once tier lists and team shells settle.

Chasing perfect gear early

A decent equipped piece often beats saving forever for a perfect late-game roll.

FAQ

Unit upgrade answers

How do you upgrade units in Anime Squadron?

Use the Units menu as your starting point. Public guide sources describe selecting a unit, opening its details, and using the upgrade or feed flow there, but exact costs and best feed targets should still be checked in game.

How do you equip gear in Anime Squadron?

Reported guide steps say to open Units, select a unit, open Details, choose an equipment slot, and equip a gear piece you already own. Crafting the gear and equipping it are separate actions.

Should I feed or sell units early?

Do it slowly. Keep useful mythics, supports, and new Update 0.5 units until you understand your best team shell. Feed or sell obvious duplicates only after checking your current roster plan.
